Hi,

Has anyone come back for Duinrell recently?

I have a few questions to ask?

Tavelling on the ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland. Our party will be staying in the Beukenveld Field. Taking all mod cons,EHUs, fridge, lights etc....

Hi - we're hoping to got too - 2 adults , 4 year old and 7 year old - in late july/ august - anyone know how busy it 's likely to be and how noisy - and  would you go for 1 week or 2 - we want to do some sightseeing around the Netherland - is it practical to drive from duinrell or would be bettter off camping  there for one week and say in the east for another week - any thoughts very welcome!

We're also planning to get a B&B somewhere on route from Dunkerque for a couple of nights - any ideas?

Thanks ever so much, Chris

Hi Chris
Holland is a very small country. I've never been to Duinrell itself though so don't know how busy its likely to be.
If you go to this link Holland.com you can send away for free leaflets/maps/things to do. We did this the first time we went and got a large envelope back full of stuff.
We camped at Camping Warnsborn last august which was a site the complete opposite to what I imagine Duinrell is like. Just up our street though as very quiet (I did a review) and plenty of bikes and go carts for the kids to borrow. My kids are simliarly aged to yours and thought it was great (although I'm sure they'd probably like Duinrell too!).

It all depends on what you want I guess, Duinrell is great with all its pools and entertainment, but sometimes kids are just as happy riding around on a bike?

Camping Warnsborn is located in the centre of the Netherlands near Arnhem and the National Park (deHoge Veluwe - def. worth a trip) and a few zoos (Burgers Zoo was good and so is Apenheul apparently but not been there yet) and the Open Air Museum was excellent and well worth the entrance fee.

however, if you wanted to stay at Duinrell for both weeks to save moving your tent, these places are still within driving distance (I'd say an hour and a half probably).

A few Landal parks (think centerparcs type places) also have campsites , where you can use their pools etc dotted around the country.

We drove from Rotterdam to the NorthEast of Germany in just under 4 hours so that gives an indication of how big it is.

Hope that helps anyway (and hope all the links work!)

We're going back next year but I think we're going to try a different part of Holland this time and go right up to the top.

I love it there. Everyone is so friendly and nice
