Hi all I'm new to the site,  I've got a young family (me, wife + 2 boys - 2&4yrs) who love camping, swimming, cycling visiting new places and beaches. We've camped in Pembrookshire and North Cornwall before and loved it. We fancy spreading our wings a bit but are on a budget. Ideally we would like a coastal campsite (with beach access and a pool would be a big bonus). Don't want to have to spend most of the budget on the ferry crossing but ideally don't want to have to travel for more than 3 hrs once off the ferry. Any recommendations would be would gratefully received!

In trying to meet all your requirements - I have come up with Le Domaine des Ormes in Brittany. It's a 'Castels' site - so 4* and set in the grounds of a Chateau. It's situated within the triangle Mont Saint Michel - Saint Malo - Dinan, and is 20 minutes away from these famous tourist attractions.

Castels sites are excellent (we are staying at one in the Loire this summer) - they have a fabulous mix - lots for the children, nice pools etc and also things for mom & dad too, restaurant, etc.

Oh and I'm presuming you would be sailing Dover-Calais as that's the cheapest - it would be approx 300 miles from Calais to this site (almost all motorway if you wish).

Just had a look at Camping du Letty which has rave reviews. Doesn't have a pool but is significantly less expensive (sub 400E - we're staying for 14 days) than many of the places I've looked at with pools work out at over 600Euros for 14 days.
