Sorry about all the questions i seem to ask but this is our first camping trip abroad and i dont want to make a mistake

was going to book disney tickets then noticed there are two parks

We only have two days at disney will this be enough time to see both parks

or should i just go to the main disneyland and maybe have a longer trip next year?

With three kiddies i dont want to rush them ( or me ) about

we are going in august so queues bound to be longer

Thanks

HI, one day in each is pushing it especially with little ones. We usually do the shops last and never queue for autographs most of the main characters are in Main Street at the end of the day so you catch them there. If you have little ones opt for the baby switch where one parent can go onto the more poular rides that the very littleys cannot then when they come off the other parent can get a go without queing again. The Peter Pan ride is unmissable as are the parades. You can also use the fast pass system to pre book your time slot, still means queueing but not so long. Check out which rides you want to do while you are there and make a plan before you go so you dont end up rushing from one area to another. If you take your lunch with you eat it in the queues rather than sitting down at a table. the fast food outlet by Pinnochios is usually the quietest.

if you buy a 3 day pass it works out cheaper and you may find that you can slip in a day trip later in the year for the other park.

Hope that helps a bit.

hi hellen

just do the main park, it caters for all ages

get there early and go straight to peter pan. the queues soon fill up and even with fastpass you can be queueing for hours

do take some food and drinks. despite the rules they are not to strict enforcing. with three kids it soon mounts up

do see the lion king show.

use a free pram to ferry tired kids about

try this web site for some good tips.

Hi Helen... we found there wasn't so much in the Studios Park so it doesnt take up so much time and it was also much quieter even in August- it is also  aimed more at older kids but saying that the stunt show is fantastic, well worth the wait and even my 4 year old daughter still talks about it!...you could spend the day in the main park, have a break for dinner then do the studios later or vice versa (although I think it closes a bit earlier than the other) Remember to do the 'baby switch' thing on the rides if you have kids who are under the height restriction, so you dont miss out.....most of all enjoy it! Try to stay for the parade/fireworks too - its magical even for the most hardened Disney cynic (!) but you have to get a spot on the kerb fairly early so have some drinks/snacks ready for this.

Hi

Depending on the age of your kiddies you may find that buying annual passes works out cheaper and means you can go anytime in the next 12 months.

If you are sponsored you can save 10% off the cost of the annual pass. Under 7's get a free pass this year with an adult one to celebrate the 15 year anniversary. You can't combine the offers though so other families I know have gone in the gate seperately to get max discounts. e.g. 1 adult + 1 free under 7, 1 adult + 1 over 7 using 10% off.

The pass then entitles you to free parking (worth 8 euros a day), 10% off all your food, drink and shopping, 15% off the wild west show.

We got our annual passes last October and are going again in August as a stopover then again this October and we are getting extra months added due to sponsoring people so we will be able to go again next summer for very little.

Hi,

check out the online deals for tickets on the main disneyland site, I've just ordered some one day hopper passes so we can go to both parks in one day. You can't get these on the door. Just hope they arrive in time.

We did both parks in 2 days - depending on the age of the kids one or other park will probably suit 'better'.   We found a lot of the main disney park was a bit young for our 6 and 8yrs old, they weren't interested in queuing to meet the characters which saved a lot of time - because we bought annual passes we spent 2.5 hours on our arrival day in the evening in the park (which wouldn't have been worth paying for a ticket for) and we did the 'big' rides that we really wanted to do that evening just in case it was busy during the day. The next day we did main disneyland all day including the Lion King show and the Honey I shrunk the kids show - it was October 1/2 term so it shut early and we still did everything we wanted to and some rides like Star Wars, Pirates, Buzz and Space Mountain we did twice using fastpasses. The next day we did Studios in the morning and Disney in the afternoon and on the last day we went back to Studios - for us 3 days was actually too long, even by day 2 we were repeating ourselves.

This year we are only going for 1 day stopover spending the 'arrival' evening in Disney to see the fireworks and do the favourites then next day we will do any 'new' rides and spend some time in the Studios as my son absolutely loves the Rock N Roll rollercoaster.

We are then going back in October courtesy of Sun vouchers (£38 for a mobile home for 3 nights) and Tesco vouchers (ferry for free) and our annual passes (already paid for themselves on very first trip)... and we will get at least 3 or our passes upgraded for another full year so we can go again anytime next year for the cost of 1 childs entry.

Bargain!

Christine
