hi: am going to Italy this week, and have heard thru' the grapevine that my bank, Nationwide, has been voted the best deal in making transactions or using ATMs abroad whereby they don't conversion/handling fees, compared to all the other money grabbing banks out there.. so does that mean, that it might be cheaper for me to use my debit card to pay for my goods than paying for it in Euros??? i've also checked out that Marks & Spencer's has one of the highest exchange rates on the High St. at 1.43 euro to the £.
as you can imagine, i'm not sure about this and would like some advice from anyone who's had experience of this recently...
many thanks in advance, xx bren
