Hi
We're off on our Continental hols on 28 July (Yippee).
We're taking our collie Max for the first time. He is Pet passported and ready to go but we need to sort our a campsite and vet near to Dunkerque so that we can take Max to a vet and get him treated and paperwork completed ready for the return to the UK. We are travelling home on the 6.00sm oat from Dunkerque on Wednesay 29 August and so we need to take him to a vet on Monday 27 August to fit in with the >24 hours but <48 hours limits.
Therefore, recommendations, Dunkerque area:
(1) Campsite - coastal would be good as we may spend a few days there while we take Max to the vet, buy some cidre, etc. Could be towards Calais and preferably allow early morning departures.
(2) Vet - Familiar with Pet Passport and preferably Englsih speaking. Our French is rather limited when it comes to vet-speak!!! One that has an English speaking receptionist, for when I phone to book would be useful too. Email for booking would be useful too
Thanks in anticipation

Chateau du Gandspette is a site near to Calais, used to early morning departures - and there's a vet within walking distance in the village Jean Paulus, 21 Rue Bleue Maison, 62910, Eperlecques Tel 03 21 88 46 00, fax 03 21 88 45 10. Can't say whether he speaks English or not, but site reception do, and I'm sure they'll help.
As you come out of the campsite entrance, turn right, cross the road, and the vet is about 200 yards on the opposite side of the road. Haven't actually used the vet, our dog is too old, but we often stay there and meet people who have.

Thanks everyone I had been considering Chateau GS. We are, howevver travelling up the E25 to Dunkerque so its a bit off our route.
Would still prefer something on the coast if poss for our last few nights.
RSM have you actually stayed at Camping Des Dunes yet? If yes what's like?
Another possible area is just over the border in Belguim - does anyone have any recommendations for there.
Thanks again to all who've posted past and future!
