Hello

On the last Sunday in July I will be leaving on the shuttle at about 10 a.m.

Is it possible to pull a caravan all the way to Poitiers and get settled down for the night before the bogey man comes out in the dark?

In other words, on a journey to La Rochelle, how far can I get on a Sunday?

Thats some trip to do in one day. Especially looking at your approx start time. Its about 400 miles so is well in excess of 8 hrs driving time and then add the stops. Most people try to get an overnight stop sorted about by about 4 or 5 pm that should get you between Chartres and Orleans.

The last two times I  travelled this route, I left calais at 08.00 and arrived at Salbris just south of Orleans at 16.00 hrs. Steady run and a 1/2 hr break at lunch time.

We've driven from Aylesbury to Royan via Dover in a day before - not towing.  I think as you won't be arriving in France until 1130-12 local time, you'd struggle to do the whole thing.

Make sure you route via the new A28 motorway via Rouen though, and not via Paris, as this will save a lot of hassle and time  especially with a caravan.  It's about 30 miles longer to Tours according to my TomTom, but worth it.
