Planning to spend 3 or 4 week on this rally in La Manga, Feb and March. Has any one been there at this time in the past, and if so was it OK. Info would be much apprciated. We were planning to via Milau, would this route be passable at that time of the year?.

Thank you all in advance. Bob.

We have spent the last two winters at La Manga and have now bought on the site so I'm obviously prejudiced.

It's always very busy during the winter, predominantly with English,Germans and Dutch and the rally have their own area towards the entrance to the site, so close to the office and supermarket but a bit further to the beach,

Weather this year was great in February and March. If it rains then it's for a day and heavy, but from memory we had a couple of days rain in Jan and then nothing until April. Temperatures tend to be anything between 15 - 22 during the day, but it can get relatively chilly at night. I think it got down to about 2 or 3 a couple of times.

There are a lot of activities organised by the rally stewards, and an extensive program that covers just about everything from Bridge to Line Dancing open to anyone on site.

Can't advise on the route as we normally come down in September, but are spending the summer there as well this year.

If there is anything specific you want top know by all means email me. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

We have twice been to the rally in Feb/March time, and both times went south via Millau. We checked the weather conditions before leaving home to make sure there were unlikely to be any problems, and the route was fine. The only downside was finding sites open all year where we wanted to make our stops.

Coming back once was very unusual snowy weather, as seen on Spanish TV, along with graphic pics of motorway crashes etc. along our chosen route via Zaragossa, Biarritz, etc so we used the motorway all the way, Barcelona, Perpignan, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris. A bit longer, but no snow until Paris!! Anothrer time came back via Lyon, and camped in several inches of snow in Beaune, but the motorways were clear of snow.
