We have just come  back from La palmyre near Royan- we wore shorts and T shirts all day but in the evening I changed into 3/4 trousers and a Decatholon fleece( 7 euros!!!! Don't you just love Decatholon!!!!!)

But we also had mossies in the evening so as they love me I tend to change in evenings anyway.

It was raining on day we left though

We have been to the Vendee lots of times- I like the beaches at Tranche

Try the chi chis too ( kinda of like doughnut sausages!)

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

We were on the West coast but further south 3 weeks ago.  We had fantastic temperatures during the day - anything between 27-35 degrees.  However, we did find that the nights were a little chilly and I needed a fleece when sitting outside the tent.

If I was going again I'd definitely pack lighter though - I took jeans and other warm items just in case (for all of us) and the only warm thing we needed was the fleece.

We have good sleeping bags and used a blanket underneath them to insulate the airbeds.  We wore PJs but some nights we were so cosy that we didn't actually need them.

Have a great holiday - I wish I was on my way there again but will just have to wait for next year.

As regards packing to go on any holiday, anywhere - the best advice I can think of is - pack everything you think you might want to take, then remove at least half of it!!  I always come back with a suitcase full of unworn, clean clothes, with all the dirties packed in carrier bags and squashed into the car boot!
