Hello everyone,

Looking at this years weather, not much camping is going to go on!!

Thinking about going to france next year with the tent, what camp sites do you use/recommend, we've never been abroad  camping before!

Thanks,

-------------
June & Keith x

Have a look at the Eurocamp brochure.

If a campsite is in there then it is guaranteed to be good.

Book direct not through Eurocamp.

Have found that some site can be very expensive.

There are so many sites in France - from the smallest (A la Ferme), municipals (sites run by the local Mairie to encourage visitors to the village/town), commercial sites - small, medium and large, to the largest all-singing, all-dancing type, which compare well to four star hotels, with pool complexes, gymnasiums, first-class restaurants, etc., etc.   What type do you fancy?  Any areas you'd like to visit?  What are your interests?  Do you prefer beach, mountains, scenery, chateaux, vilages, or a mixture of all of these?

Secondly, when are you going?  High season, popular sites need to be booked fairly well in advance, low season just turn up and you're off.  Dover/Calais or Dover/Dunkerque is obviously the best bet for ferries, as it's by far the cheapest.  For a quick look at lots of sites, to see what you fancy, have a look at the Alan Rogers http://www.alanrogers.travel/index-google.php?gclid=CMrF-9_dxI0CFSMSEgodrh1ESw website, or Camping Cheque - http://www.campingcheque.co.uk/en/ (click on our campsites, and click again on the map, each 'blob' is a site - and you can have a quick overview, and then if interested go directly to the website).  Outside peak season you may be able to take advantage of Camping Cheques - on some sites even during school holidays a pitch may cost only £10.30 including electricity and two people.
