Hi chaps,

After about 8hrs of trolling websites and looking at maps I think that for us Newhaven to Dieppe looks a good option to get is at least on the way to brittany.

Has anybody done this ferry route and is it ok?

Looks pretty good price although i was looking at this years as a guide for next.

We did that crossing last year - loved it!
It was so easy to get to newhaven, lovely to land at Dieppe and the crossing was great. The boats were really nice, all shiny and new.

It has been taken over by LD Lines now i heard tho, so don't know if the prices have gone up - was really good value when we did it.

Hi

We returned on this crossing on Saturday and it was great.  Less than 4 hours each way.  The Transmarche Ferries were excellent (booked through CC).

The cost at the height of the season was £325 and I also booked Cabins with en-suite for an extra £20 each way.

For us, this was the best option to go to the Vendee region combining, cost, and convenience.

My only complaint about the crossing was that the food ran out before the end of each crossing as we chose to eat late on each crossing.  It would not have been good if we had children with us.

Otherwise I cannot fault the service on this route.

We did this route last year and are doing it again on Thursday. Only comment would be, going out on 7am crossing was excellent. Large shiney and new ferry. Coming back on the evening crossing it was a small old ferry with nothing to do and very few places to sit. We wished we had a cabin for the return journey. However everyone was in the same position and cabins went very fast.

Other than that couldn't fault it.

We got back today from France and used Newhaven/Dieppe and found them to be excellent value for money.  One of the great advantages is that the port and surrounding roads are so quiet compared to Dover and Calais.
