Don't know where they are in Calais but look out for a LeClerc or Auchan.  We were in France recently and got some real good bargains!

Good luck at Croix du Vieux Pont.  It's a lovely site with great size pitches and loads of facilites.  The showers, etc, are spotlessly clean, though you will need to take a loo roll with you each visit!

We were there at the end of July but unfortunately got caught up in the same rain people were experiencing here so we left after 36 hours and headed south to the sun.  We'd love to go back some time to experience the campsite in better weather.

If your staying at Croix de View Pont, theres a good "Cora" hypermarket in Soissons which is about 15 mins away or alternatively theres a big Centre Commercial in Compeigne which has a Carrefour Hypermarket with a "Flunch" - It's a bit more difficult to find - take the road which runs alongside the river then turn right over the bridge at the traffic lights then left at the other side of the bridge and continue on that road - you'll pick up the signs for "Centre Commercial".

Happy Shopping !

The best place from Bien Assise is the Cite de Europe near the Channel Tunnel. There is a large Carrefour as well as a Tesco wine shop.

Just returned from la croix du vieux pont today. Site was excellent, plenty for the kids to do and very clean.

Only problem was we had 2 days of sunshine in 2 weeks. The whole site was a bog due to theconstant rain.

Reccommend the on site restaurant which was very good.

Auchan in Calais is worth a look or abit further afield the huge Leclerc at st Martin de boulogne.we actually found slightly cheaper stuff away from the hypermarkets at the ports.
