where is the best place to get my holiday euros ?

we used our Nationwide card all the time in Southern Ireland and did not cost us any thing.

The Post office do a credit card which does'nt charge for overseas transactions, you can apply via the PO website.

I bought my euros at the local PO no commission charge. When I need mor off to the ATMs

I paid  £702  for 1000 euro using Lloyds Visa Debit card  in four ATM transactions in France last month. This includes four charges totalling £10.37.

Buying the same money from Tesco would have come to £698.96, from the Post Office  £713, so it seems like a slightly better rate from Lloyds. I did consider opening a Nationwide account but left it too late. Not sure I'd have saved a great deal anyway. tenner at most?

Used the debit card twice which cost a pound a time.

We took cash (Euros) with us to France. We had to use a debit card only once when a little low on fuel for my liking and the petrol garage we stopped at was cards only.
