I would welcome any info. on Touring Caravan sites in France that has good lake  waterside pitches for carp fishing. I am particularly interested in the Brenne area, but would be interested in other recommendations.

I believe I need a French fishing licence, where do I get this, and what would it cost. I have not fished in France before, so this is all new to me.

You can get a tourist licence valid for 14 days and costs 30 euros. The campsite sorted mine out but I believe most french tackle shops and tourist offices sell them.

Two big fishing lakes on site full of Carp. It's a lovely site, great food, swimming pool, bar etc. It's owned by a British couple, Sandra & Garry. We store our van there and even I had a go at fishing last time we were there. It's very peaceful too.

 This is what I caught but I didn't dare touch it.

Friends of mine caught enormous carp in the lake at Maché (Vendée), where there is also night carp-fishing.

There is a British-owned campsite nearby, the Val de Vie. Not absolutely on the water, but only 5 minutes' walk away from the lakeside.

Carnet's de Peche vary in cost from commune to commune. Here for instance a 15-day permit costs €28.50. There are also day tickets for €7.50. Almost every commune has a 'Plan d'Eau' where you can fish (with a licence).

As Sue says, Twinlakes comes very highly recommended.
