Coves and bays are ok as it goes but having been to Brittany lasy year and Devon this (thankfully not camping) and had cold and wet weather give me Jard every time - I actually like blue sea, blue sky with sand dunes backed by pine forests with the sound of crickets.
Plenty of wide bays around as well, and the lagoon and sand dunes at Plague du Veillon................with locals cracking oysters straight of the rocks and eating them.
I came across very few Brits appart from my familly that is!!
