Hi Neil
It is a lovely site - and for me it is worth it as the toilets are spotless, the pool really nice and not too cold and the restaurant not too expensive. I tend to like sites that you can walk to a town/village and this is great. As Val said in another post it is a short walk and the village is lovely with a square and lots of bars and ice-cream parlours and a merry-go-round in the middle!
I didn't see any hired fridges. We have a small electric cool box type fridge which we use for milk, butter and beer. We ended up buying from the camp shop as it was quite well stocked.
The entertainment in August last year was very good but you could just ignore it if it wasn't your thing and it did finish at midnight. It was always outside the bar and if you wanted to have a meal while watching it you certainly had to book a table.
We are not going to book this year as we are going in the last two weeks of August so should be ok. When you arrive they take you on a golf trolley and show you a couple of pitches. They are all nice pitches.
One of our day trips was a visit to the harribo(?) sweet factory. Cannot remember where it was but we also had a lovely meal in the nearest town (Ales) which is a gorgeous place. Obviously there is the river and the canoes but my two are too young - you need to be 7.
Hope this helps
Caroline
