Yes, I have.  But that was many (14) years ago when I was in my mid teens, so my impression is a teenage one!

We had one of the pitches with direct access to the lake-side beach, which was fabulous.  There were windsurf boards and pedalos for hire (I recall peddling right across the lake once, much to the horror of my mother whose sole thought was the sheer depth of it!). I think there was archery as well and an outdoor disco one night (which I was dragged to and sat stubbornly at the back reading a novel).

It could have been a great site for teenagers, except that when we went (tail end of August), most of the other teenagers on site were Dutch, which frustrated our attempts to be friendly.  And there were bright orange slugs on our pitch some mornings (but then it was so wet last summer we had slugs in Vienne!).  The toliet/shower facilities were clean, though unisex - and we swiftly discovered that after dark, the interior of the shower and loo cubicles were reflected in the sky-lights - being aged 10-15 at the time, my siblings and I found this hilarious and worked out which were 'safe' to use!

We did a few trips out and about: a daytrip into Switzerland, and a visit to the valley of Baume-les-Messieurs,where there's a visit-worthy cave complex and a Benedictine Abbey.

Hopefully someone here has been more recently and can give you an adults eye view.

Stayed there for 3 or 4 nights several years ago.

The lakeside beach is excellent and the water in the lake really clear.

Bar and restaurant were very good but we found them a little expensive.

The campsite shop as I remember was fairly well stocked.

That's about all I can remember....sorry.

We much prefer Eastern France to the West - cheaper crossings, fewer crowds, less touristy and commercialised, fantastic sight-seeing, much more French in feel. But the weather was a bit wetter this summer than normal - same as most of France I expect. Loads of lovely scenery etc.

Oh one other important thing about this region..........

There are no biting insects in Jura !

We were told this by a campsite owner at Poncin when we asked for insect repellent in the campsite shop. We took the chance and went without and none of us got bitten.

Lovely site. We went for 1 week in August afew years ago and found it very unspoilt in a beautiful area, however we had rain nearly every day and the nights were cold!

The sight sounds just right for us, and the weather can't be wetter than the west of Scotland, just need to sit down with the phone and calculator and work out the best deal on ferries, thinking of using Rosyth to cut out the long UK drive as we have always driven down to dover and then on to the Vendee in one continous drive swapping drivers every 4 hours which hasn't been too bad, but hey it's time to try a new route.

I spent a summer on the other site on lac de chalain, Domaine de Chalain. I've also stayed on Pergola many years ago. Both are fantastic sites in a fantastic area. I've worked and holidayed all over France and the Jura is definitely my favourite area. Its an unspoilt beautiful area.
A visit to the Cascades de Herrison is a must.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Have a look at my review of the area from 2006 , one very hot week and one very wet. The first was near Clairvaux les Lacs and it was a lovely area. easy to get to from Dover and I'd definitely go back if the weather could be guaranteed.
