Anyone know of a touring caravan site near the Rome Metro.

John,

Camping I Pini north of Rome has english speaking staff.

There is a railway station in the village linking to the city centre.Rome main railway station has notice boards and announcements in english.

The site also runs a bus into Rome everyday reasonable cost.It drops you off near the metro to catch the tube into the centre.If you are visiting the Vatican i found that i could easily walk from the drop off point into the city using a street map.

Hi,

May husband and I stayed at Camping Roma for a month in September 2006. It costs one euro each to get into the centre of Rome on the bus which collects you from right outside the site. The ticket lasts for 70 mins on both the underground and buses and you can get as far as the Colluseum on it. The site is clean with a fantastic restaurant. All the staff speak good English. It is on quite a busy road but there is a bridge over the road to get to the supermarket on the opposite side. The site is large enough not to hear any road noise.
