Hi – Has anyone any sites to recommend in the Perpignan/Narbonne region?
I'd like to know what you think of the area and any sites that are good (water slides, activities etc). I've got three boys under seven years old and they need FUN FUN FUN!!!. Any feedback welcome!
Welcome to the UKCS website. Hope you get some good advice!!
Argeles sur Mer is FUN, FUN, FUN, and there are some great sites there - La Sirene has a great water park and organises a wide range of activities every day, with a children's club, etc.,(http://www.camping-lasirene.fr/pgs_fr/bracelet.php) or La Soleil, which is recommended by others on here, and is nearer to the beach. There are loads of other sites along this coast - and I'm sure you'll get some great recommendations from others.
We use le Soleil nr Argeles, great area with plenty to do. It has a decent pool but not slides although it it is next to the beach but the north beach is steep shelving with quite coarse sand. A little up the beach is the nudist area. Quite a bit of noise carries into the site from the nearby attractions. Teenagers adore it - and if the teenagers are happy we stand 1/2 a chance of relaxing.
I'd be tempted to have a look at the site nr Le racu south of Argeles where Val's son worked -looks really nice - Bois Valmerie? water slides I think, near enough to the beach to walk and a great area.
Hi, Yes I could have mentioned Bois de Valmarie- but it only offers mobile home accommodation, and I always presume (sometimes mistakenly - in Huw's case in particular) that other people have their own equipment. Bois de Valmarie is a lovely site, near to a lovely beach, and a little away from the madding crowd in Argeles itself. Great pool on the top of the hill, good restaurant (lovely moules) and good shower blocks. If you want a mobile home, then it's a lovely site, but sadly no longer offers places for tourers, although it once did.

Not entirely wrong Val - We have our own equipment for this country but prefer to take a relatively empty car to France, travel fast, enjoy the relative luxury of a static and come home with a bootful of goodies.
This year stayed at Domain De yole in Vias, has fantastic pool complex + slides. Le Soleil at Argeles is also a fantastic site but as stated before no slides. Simon
We have stayed at Le Barcarres the last two years - it's a 10 minute drive from Perpignan and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Lots to do and see in the village and 3 market days a week !
Site we stayed at was called Camping California.

we stopped at le romarin just inland from Argeles this year.good pool but no water slide but loads of stuff for teens particularly on an evening, disco.live entertainment etc.the only drawback we found with this site is the fact you needed to drive to the beach and it wasnt on the route of the land train.anyone who knows argeles will know about the traffic in peak season making it a 20 minute car ride to the plage nord.
very nice area with some stunning scenery, you just got to take the coast road into spain, awesome.
Domain de la bergerie was very nice, just outside perpignan, two adults and two youg kids, suited us very well. although the site is split by a main road( it wasnt that busy to cross though)
