Hi

Any suggestions for a coastal site, ideally with an indoor pool. Not bothered about up to 20 min drive to the beaches if that means we get a nicer site.

We like fairly large sites with good pool complex, takeaway, shop, room to play football etc. evening entertainment (9yrs old loves Karaoke and perfoming in kids clubs shows - arghhh!)

To give you and idea of what we like/don't like:

Hated Jean de Monts in the Vendee and the way all the sites were one after the other down a main road for miles of coastline, but loved the Vendee beaches. Hated Camping Amiaux as it was dirty and noisy from road.

Liked Domaine de La Rive, loved the beaches there, but thought the area was really boring.

So - which area would you go to? any particular site?

I thought possibly La Pinede but they only have private sanitation pitches left which are really expensive, has anyone tried les Sables de Cordouan their 'sister' site?

Christine

Have a look at Logis du Breuil at St Augustin sur Mer near Royan (I've put a review on this site).

No indoor pool, but if you're going in the summer, you really won't need one as it's usually around 30 degrees (last summer was the exception - worst there for 10 years apparently).

There's no entertainment but loads of space for games, big kids play area, fantastic beaches a 5 minute drive away, and high quality amenities on site. We've booked again for this summer after going last year, and we're pretty fussy about sites.

Hi there,i went to Ciberon in Brittany a few years  ago. The site was just over a quiet road from the beach, there is a great outdoor swimmimg pool and water slides, restaurant and small bar.Its only a 5 min drive to the town which is lovely. The many beaches are clean and uncrowded and if you drive to the north coast [10 mins] the surfing is fantastic.Hope this helps.

Hi Barry - sounds nice - does it have an indoor pool? do you have a link as I couldn't find it via Google.
