Anyone been to Denmark and got any good advice. Planning on sailing to Hook of Holland and travelling through Holland and Northern Germany. Need any advice on campsites or places worth visiting.
Thanks
Billy

Denmark is great! Sites are generally very good. Must sees are Legoland if you have children, otherwise Odense, North Jutland, Copenhagen, the Viking ships at Roskilde, the southern islands, and the bridge/tunnel to Sweden. In fact the whole of Denmark is great.
Prices are similar to UK, and cheaper than other Scandinavian countries, and they don't have the stupid restrictions on alcohol sales.
We have been watching your post with interest...we have booked Harwich-Esbjerg return for May/June. We intend to spend about a week in Denmark then take the ferry over to Norway (Hirtshals - Kristiansand), driving round and back down through Sweden across the bridge back in to Denmark. We have been looking at the sites in the Camping Card Scheme...there are quite a few, should help to keep the costs down. We have already seen Copenhagen and Legoland on weekend trips, definitely a must see. This time we hope to see more of the countryside.
Well you have to use the Autobahn A1, so here we go. Münster Altstadt is well worth a visit. Osnabrück Altstadt is likewise worth a visit. The next big town is Bremen. Town the approx size of Cardiff. but with a city name, and a bloody good football club, (Werder-Bremen), also good for shopping. The next is to my mind the best city of all Hamburg. You would need 2 to 3 days to visit this very beautiful city. The next is Lübeck, the marzipan city with its magnificent Gothic gate. If you stick to the west coast of Denmark you will find mile upon mile of white sand. The coastline is not unlike that of Norfolk. All you need would be is the weather, it can be a little damp and blowy.

When are you thinking of going?

we stayed at Camping Hirtshals a few years ago, nice spot - brilliant sunsets, oh hurt his back while we were there and everyone was brilliant - nothing too much trouble
also nice little town just a short walk and practically on the ferry out of your van - everything convenient - and as I said - nice people

But it´s all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can´t please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

Thanks for all your useful information, yes we are planning to go that route through Northern Germany and will take on board your advice. Do you know a campsite nr Hamburg with public transport handy to get into Hamburg.
Hi Billy
Well, there are awful lot of camping sites in Germany, but looking at my ADAC camping atlas I have two in Hamburg or near Hamburg you could look at:- Camping site Buchholz near Hamburg
Thanks, we have got lots of info from the Danish tourist office but will contact you if we have any questions and nearer the time. Got a short break in Madrid in a few weeks (plane and hotel though)
