We are probably going to join up with Blue Camel and spend 3 weeks in Morocco next year - along with some friends, of course.  Couldn't face the culture shock on our own! Besides I must be the world's worst at practical things but my friend is ace!

Has any one any experiences of touring Morocco or any advice to share, please?

hi

its quite a while since ive been(10 years) but having travelled around the world its the only place i wouldnt go back to. We travelled around and went trecking. I found the scenery quite barron and the people unfriendly. We may have had a bad experience but there are too many nice friendly places to see to spend time here

sorry if its not what you wanted to hear

You could try looking at some of the articles on www.magbaztravels.com where there are experiences of motorhomers who have done the trip to Morocco. Click for "countries" on the left side of the page. Hope this is helpful.

You sure that was Morocco you went too nickyw?

Morocco is getting to be one of the most popular Mhome destinations with loads of revisits. I have met dozens of Mhome/Caravan owners who now go knowhere else every year. In fact I am in Morocco at the moment at Essaouira, on the Atlantic Coast, coming to the end of a tour with www.desertdetours.com and have had a another fantastic time [my third visit with them]. I plan to stay on for at least a few more weeks with some of the group. The weather has been unbelievable with blue skies and warm every day. We have met, been welcomed and stayed with some of the most friendly, helpful and happy people I have ever come across. Barron? Huge Cedar Forests that you can wild camp in, rolling plains, Riff and Atlas Mountains, Atlantic and Med coastline and of course the most un-barron part of the Sahara in the south with great dunes etc. Not to mention the great Imperial Cities.

Colinbess. How or whoever you go to Morocco with you will have a great and safe time. See you there next year!

My son loves Morocco, too.  He doesn't have a caravan, but has travelled around independently, on public transport, etc., last year and three years ago - and everywhere met nothing but friendly and helpful people, and lots of beautiful places.  Some of his photographs are the most stunning I have seen of anywhere in the world.  He loves it - and it certainly doesn't sound like the Morocco Nickyw went to ten years ago.

I must admit I do love Morrocco but if you travel and sight see with the locals and not in a group you can get trouble.Got stones thrown at me walking around Chechoun and needles darted at me near Rabat.Met a motorcyclist who had been beaten and robbed nr Chechoun and was scared to step foot out of the campsite.People openly try to pick youre pockets in the souks around Fez.

However its a fascinating destination and not to dangerous if you take reasonable precautions such as staying in a group and being careful with youre valuables. It is alot safer than when I first visited in the 80s.

Hi Yorkshire

Have you read my article about Morroco? You can find it in the Features & Tips . To add to the the artical you have nothing to worry about with the people of this country. They will make you so welcome. But of course you do have to take care with your valubles etc as you would in your own country.

Go for it and enjoy yourself.

Thanks, Berberman.  Your article looks fantastic - I've just printed it out and we'll read it before sending it on to our friends.
