If you think about being turned away from sites then you would not buy one at all because in this country many sites will not take a twin axle van.  So it does not matter where you are you run the risk of being tunred away for having a twin axle or charged extra.  Does not bother us we will just find another site.

We have not had a problem with our twin axle in France or here, we do check that the sites can handle a twin axle when we ask about the site, I would not consider it a problem.

We always use one municiple site in France at Caen as it is so close to the port, it does have a sign up about twin axles but we have never been refused.

We will be staying there again this year.

We have only had 2 x 3 week holidays in France using Municipals, but we have never been turned away for having a Twin Axle van. The only check we do, is with the Caravan Club Europe 1 book, if that says 'No TA's' then we give that site a miss.

If like me you are likely to worry, and like to know where you are going to end up for the night, another site in the area is Camping Croix d'Arles at Bourg-Langres. We stayed there on the way back from the south last summer in August with a single axle. It does fill up by evening, so we book independantly by internet beforehand, as we do with all our stopovers. Hope this may help.
