Guines is only a very small town - see here for typical photographs. It's not a holiday centre, or resort - probably has a couple of bars and restaurants - but there's a good restaurant on the campsite. La Bien Assise can be quite a busy site, with lots of people 'in transit' - see here for reviews - though there are some people who spend a whole holiday there. It has an indoor pool. You can find things to do in the area - the beaches to the south of Calais at Wimereux are lovely, St Omer is worth a wander round, Cassels is a nice hilltop village, with some great restaurants and bars, and often an antique market, there are the war sites at Eperleques (Blockhaus) and La Coupole at St Omer, the canals around Guines - but it's not 'touristy' as an area.
