We're planning on spending a week in Alsace, preferably near the Route des Vins, in July and would be very grateful for any recommendations. We'll be taking a tent and 2 dogs.
Thanks for your help!
Sam

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
A site I used 2 years ago is ideal for the wine route. Camping Municipal Pierre de Courbretin at Ribeauville only 3 miles from the main road and just north of Colmar. The site is in a quiet location right on the edge of the town. The toilet/shower facilities were excellent. The site itself was broken up into bays with between 4 and 8 pitches to each. There is a local swimming pool just a few yards from the site. The town is very picturesque and is only a few minutes walk. There are several restaurants and a excellent selection of shops. The location for touring the wine route is ideal, it's on it and right in the middle.
Camp Municipal Pierre-de-Coubertin, Rue de Landau, 68150 Ribeauville [tel: 0389736671]
I would agree that the Municipal at Obernai is brilliant, English speaking staff who are very helpful. A Park is adjacent and swimming pool/lido 200 yards away. Obernai is a lovely town and has a good Supermarket, shops, bars, restaurants etc. The wine route drive is good. Also recommend a visit to Strasbourg - excellent park and ride tramways that take you right into the centre for super boat trips. Visit Mount Sainte Odile, Haut Koenigsbourg [Castle], National Motor Museum [Schlumpf Collection] at Mulhouse. Alsace is a lovely area - great wine.
