Martin,

We have been to the site your are going to. its a lovely site for the kids, great pool and slides (if a bit cold) and good playground away from the pitches so  no noise on your pitch. Takeaway not up to much imo, highly recommend you get in the car and go to La Foret Fouensant, there is a great beach where when the tide goes out you can walk a long way out with water very shallow, great sand for digging but best of all a fantastic place to eat right on the beach, go at lunchtime, they do a great 2 or 3 course fixed price lunch and the kids can play while waiting for the food. The beach is called Plage du Kervelen (I think) we love it and would go more often but the weather is unpredictable. Take the kids to Concarneau too. Lastly on the way out of La Foret (on the right past the town hall) is a great little place that does takeaway crepes, (yummy)

Who mentioned crepes? - and to takeaway too, fantastic.
I did try to find a site review, but failed miserably, so thanks ValA for linking to it for me. Its always great to hear other peoples experiences. Yer, the kids are looking forward to using the slides and pools etc. and the location looks good too, so we are really pleased to have booked it and the ferry in one go. This will be are first camping trip to France, though we have had many in the UK. I'm hoping it will all go smoothly, as now the children are a getting older we may be able to take a few more trips to the area.

Hi Martin,

I defy anyone not to enjoy a holiday in France. Everything is so much better geared to camping and caravanning than in the UK and contrary to popular and misguided belief the French are very welcoming.

It doesn't matter if you make a complete hash of trying to speak French, they appreciate that you are least making the effort and will go out of their way to help you.

You'll have a great time, trust me!

Vic

Brittany is great - been last 4 years with a brief vistit to the Vendee. We always went on the Condor Vomit Comet from Poole to St Malo. Before Master P was school age we could get a complete package in a mobile for 2 weeks for less than £500 including crossing (low season). Last year in August the crossing was £400 return but I reckoned it was worth it to spend 2 days being their rather than 2 days travelling - it's a big chunk out of our meagre holidays!

The beach at the back of the campsite is also nice you walk through nature reserve to access it. There is an indoor pool with slides etc in Foret Fousanant if you have a bad day. Quimper is also worth a visit, but if the weathers good I suggest the pool and the beach and lots of the chilled stuff.
