Just a thought please be aware that a lot of the RN road numbers have been changed as from last year & do not comply with 2007 road atlas's or indeed sat nav's. we found out last August & I had to put blind faith in my sat nav as the roads announced did not comply with the road signs & neither did my 2007 maps several times a RN had been changed to a B road with a different number. somthing to do with the handing over of RN routes to the local departments.


Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

We tend to look out for place names rather than road numbers. Do not have a sat nav.

Road atlas plus road signs - where's the problem?

Just looking at my AA 2008 French road map. It looks quite easy to understand these changes. Nearly all N roads have changed to D roads or are in the process of. The number has only changed slightly. In the majority a 1 has been replaced by a 9 so the N138 is now the D938. In a few cases it may differ slightly but the last two numbers are always the same. As said above, on major roads follow signs for the city/town

Plus print off directions from the Michelin before you go so I can't see any problem with having a 2007 map
