Hi, 4Boys. As promised, here you are several suggestions about campsites at the Valencia region.
Having read several reviews, campsites near the city of Valencia are not praised. So maybe you would like to stay more at south. Oliva is a nice village at 80 km from Valencia; there are two or three campsites that are located just beside the beach. Me, I have visited camping Olé; but Eurocamping gets better reviews. These are very busy sites in august, but I don't know if it's possible to book in advance.
Even further to the south, you may like to stay near Alicante that at Valencia. La Marina campsite seems to be very valued by users, although it looks like a mega campsite.
At Castellón (the province that borders Valencia by north), I have stayed at Alcossebre (Cámping Tropicana). Big campsite, well mantained, and quiet. But - the nearest beach is not very nice. And if you prefer to go more to the north (Tarragona), you will have a huge offer of campsites at the Costa Daurada (Salou, Cambrils, etc.). At Cambrils, campsites Sangulí and Cambrils Park are often mentioned and well qualified.
Hope this helps. Needless to say - don't hesitate to ask me for more help, if you like so.

Paseante - nice to hear someone who is from Spain (I presume).
We've been to Cambrils Park, which is a lovely site. Although it's big the pitches are divided into smaller areas, which are very nice indeed with a good amount of shade, and really quite a good size for Spanish sites. The facilities on the site are all first class, the sanitary blocks are immaculately clean (each with resident cleaners), there are two fantastic pool complexes, a very good value restaurant on site, supermarket, coffee and bread shop, take-away, bar with evening entertainment - but which finishes at a sensible time, and the site is within walking distance of the beach at Salou/Cambrils. We've used Camping Cheques there, which makes it very good value in the low season, and always had a great holiday.
