We've got tickets (via Tesco vouchers) for Parc Asterix this summer. I've been looking on the website and round here and can't find any mention of height restrictions, though some of the rides are "big" rides. Can anyone tell me if there are and if so, what? I've got a tall six year old and though she does understand she can't quite go on everything yet with big brother, it will save queuing time and tantrums on the day if we're forewarned.
(I have to say that it looks like being a whole lot more fun than EuroDisney, which I'm rather dreading....)

Val, we've been - and it was great fun, but I can't remember what the height restrictions were. However, this might help - taken from the Parc Asterix website:
Sur 30 attractions, seules 6 requièrent une taille minimum : vous devez mesurer au moins 1m40 pour Goudurix et le Cheval de Troie et plus de 1m20 pour Tonnerre de Zeus, la Galère, les Chaises Volantes et la Trace du Hourra. Toutes les autres attractions sont accessibles sans restriction de taille. Les enfants mesurant moins de 1m devront être obligatoirement accompagnés d'un adulte responsable.
On 30 attractions, only 6 require a minimum height: you must measure at least 1m40 for Goudurix and the Trojan Horse and more 1m20 for Tunnel of Zeus, Galère, Flying Chair and the Trace of the Hourra. All other attractions are accessible without size restrictions. Children measuring less 1m will have to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Have a good day.

Go to EuroDisney with an open mind and you should be alright. It is not as ghastly as Florida but then the French do their best to inject a note of hatred into the proceedings
Oh well, that should provide a bit of light entertainment and relief for Hubby and I then. Something to look forwards to!

Hi we went to Parc Asterix this Easter hols. My son is 6 & the only rides I can remember that he couldn't go on were the two really big rollercoasters. We loved it, thought the rides much more fun than Disney. I think most of the bigger rides (apart from the two already mentioned ) had a 1metre height restricion. The only dissapointing thing was the dolphin show has been shut since October (assume it still is) my 10 year old daughter was looking forward to this as she doesn't like the rides.
Have a great time ,my 6 year old says its the best place ever, we are already saving clubcard vouchers for next year
Lou
Have fun
------------- finally camping in term time

We went to Asterix last year when son was 6 (though he's a tall one - 99th %ile) - anyway, there was nothing that he would go on that he couldn't because of height, and he's no woos - loves Rock n Roll roller coaster, Space Mountain etc. at Disney so I think it was only the two big ones (that I wimped out of) that we didn't do.

we found the same, most of the rides with restrictions were 1m20( large ones)
But most of them had no restrictions at all. Dont miss the dolphin show, it was lovely!

Thanks all, especially Val A for the refs. I think she'll be able to cope with just missing out on the two biggest rides. It will give me an excuse to wimp out too, thank goodness!

We went on the last sunday in august 2 years ago and it wasn't a good experience.
Just too busy. Only managed 2 rides and queued for ages for them. Be warned if you can't see a sign telling you its only 60 minutes to go you are in for a long long wait.
I had it recommended by some-one else who rated it highly so I think my problem was just the sheer number of people. plus I don't really like that sort of thing anyway but you do things for the kids.

Well, we'll be going mid week in early July so though the French school holidays will have started, the English ones won't have. So hopefully it won't be quite as busy.
