We went to Menhirs the last week of June and first week of July - it was busy enough without being overbearing.
Remember reviews are very subjective - you may personally love the place or hate it.
For me the location of the site outweighted any potential downsides.
Make sure that you take a visit to the Quiberon peninsula while you're there - well worth the trip!
