Supermarkets always, and not too close to the port. there are lot of "bargains" aimed at Brits on the way back in the wine warehouses.
Look out for earthenware pichets, they come in various sizes to suit your drinking habits. Chill the pichet before pouring the whites, or give the red a chance to air. then you can go for "Bag in Box" which is becoming ever more popular, and you can enjoy some very nice wines providing you are not intent on showing the label. There are now 5 litre as well as 3 litre bag in box, and the price per litre is very attractive. The boxes fit the car boot better, and don't rattle.
If you don't drink the box at one go, there is no air in the bag, so the wine will keep fine for a long period, provided it is not on the shelf above the Aga.
