Does anyone know a good spot for a quick overnight stop on this route. A good safe service area would do around 2-3 hrs from Calais

Don't know whether any service area can be classed as safe. But about three hours from Calais should get you to the Pont du Normandie as you drop off the bridge take the first exit (junc 3 of A29) and turn left, this site is in 2 miles www.camping-catiniere.com it's signposted and easy to find.

Another vote for Camping Catiniere - perfect half way stop for Southern Brittany and a nice little site, near enough to Honfleur to pop in for dinner in one of the lovely restaurants round the harbour.

ther is a nice municipal at orbec just south of rouen on the way to le mann

take the signs for the college along on the road you need to take care of steep speed bumps take them slow. i think there were 4 may be 5 then you need to be on the left of the road to turn in to the site, the road is very quiet hardly any thing on it., its just off the motor way and a quiet clean over night stop.ehu and water on every pitch. i think it was about 9 euros a night.

orbec is a very pretty little town.
