Just returned from our first time towing abroad. Don't know why we were worried as it was so easy (hubby is navigator, I tow) even on and off the ferry. 4th of June and it rained all the way from the north east of England right to Chalons en Champagne and was a further 5 days until we got any 'decent' weather. Stayed 9 days at the municipal site in Chalons and watched people come and go, some relating stories of bad weather in the south of France too so we felt a little better about staying where we were. Diesel prices were horrendous though and I noticed food seemed pricier than last year too, but maybe that was down to the poor pound.Moved on to the municipal site at Epernay for the last five nights of our trip and had glorious weather. Had a wonderful tour of the Mercier champagne house (due to seeing a recommendation on here, ty) and bought too much hic! My only gripe about the site at Epernay was the continuous grass cutting from very early in the morning and according to some who stayed on site, the only respite was over the 2 hour lunch break then continued till end of working day. Even a puncture couldn't spoil our trip although we thought 20 euros for a repair a bit steep !
Already planning next year's trip and hopefully will travel further south. I envy all those with holidays still to come. Bon Voyage!
