O you are soooo going to enjoy yourselves! It'll all be fine when you get there and get that Sunncamp pitched and a glass of wine in your hand.

Sorry, don't know about gas on Eurotunnel etc

We went thourgh Euro Tunnel at whit and took our gas bottle and noone even asked us what we had in the car, as long as it's in Travel mode, sealed as you get from the shop there shouldn't be a problem. The tunnel is so easy - you are with your car all the time. As for the EHU converter probably a good idea to get one here from your local campiing shop, its a short piece of wire with two  of the blue plug ends on one which will connect to the end of your wire and one which will plug into their EHU unit.  But to be honest, we've got one of these and have NEVER had to use it in 7  years of camping in France.

a gas bottle is fine on the eurotunnel - well we have never been stopped or asked! Just make sure it is closed and secure.

Visibility vest needs to be with the passengers and not in the boot.

Must have head light converters - otherwise on the spot fine. You have to put your headlights on in some tunnels and in the rain so don't assume that if you are not driving at night you do not need them.

I think one triangle is fine for France. We tend to also take a fire extinguisher and spare bulbs for the car.

Have a great time - it is a lot easier than you think.

If you wear specs you should take a spare pair with you. Not sure it's compulsory for France but it is in some countries - better safe than sorry.

A couple of years ago I lost my reading glasses (no idea how!) and as I like to read when I'm on my holiday it was a real pain. Glad it was only a couple of days before we were coming home.

Right about the fine, converters are required ALL THE TIME, daylight or not. You  ;re unlikely to be bothered if not, until you have an incident, and then it is one more item on the cost list.

Fire extinguisher is a must, along with bulbs. Theroretically you are obliged to stop at the scene of an accident and render assistance. In practice because of the size of the country, and because you can be a long way from the emergency services, it is normal for people to stop and help. The French are very good at it.
