Hi all

I am sure this question has been asked and answered many times but we are looking for sites in the Biscarrosse near the lakes and beech. Any ideas.

Thanks

It depends what kind of site you want, big  try La Rive right on the lake great pool complex, playpark, bar and entertainment gets v busy in high season but quieter after 15th August. For something quieter try Les Ecuriels also near the lake but not as many pitches and low key, both are about 10-15mins to Biscarosse plage and 5-10mins from supermarkets and shops, there are quite a few in that area camping Bimbo springs to mind as a sign I,ve seen. We are off to La Rive on 8th August arrive on the 9th, it will be our 6th time there (missed last year) we like it as hubby sails and takes the boat children like the pool and can ride around site on their bikes safely, the lake is shallow and warm and the beach great for surfing and bodyboarding, We know site will be hetic 1st week but we normally stay in a , saying that we don't normally go to bed until round midnight as like to sit out mobile home towards the back of the campsite so the entertainment noise doesn't bother us that much. Any other info please ask.

We've stayed at Camping Bimbo and I would recommend it.  The pitches are quite tight if you've got a big unit, but they're separated by hedges so still quite private.  Its very French so don't go if your kids want to talk to English kids - there may not be any, but the French are pretty friendly there in our experience.  The pool is good and was always clean, tennis courts were great fun and toilet facilities were clean.  The site restaurant served great food - we only ate there once at the end of our stay but wished we'd tried it earlier.  The site is in a good location for the lake, the beach and Biscarrosse itself - take your bikes and you can cycle to the lake and the town on special trails so you don't have to go on the roads - your can also cycle to the beach - this does take some time (about 1hr I think) but its through the woods and is great if you like family cycling.  Good luck!

We stayed at Les Ecureuils last year, and loved the fact that it was so close to the lake. I've mentioned the site on a previous post, so you might want to do a search for it. I believe the pool complex has been updated this year, which will be great as the old pool was only one depth the whole way, therefore unsuitable for my younger son. However, we preferred the lake, it was warmer! A lovely area, hapy hols!
