Have stayed at Delftse Hout several times. Good site, friendly owners and reception staff. Pim, the owner, once lent us a TV out of one of their statics, free of charge, 'cos ours wouldn't work. Brought it across in the pouring rain as well!!
The busstop used to be straight outside the site, but now it's about a 10 minute walk. But it isn't all that far to walk into Delft anyway, about half an hour if that, and cycling of course is quicker still
The site is in effect in 2 parts, there is the toiletblock/reception building in the middle and the pitches are either side of that. Motorhomes are usually put on the pitches at the back of the building, the pitches are grass, but with hardstanding underneath it, so no worries about getting stuck. There is also a motorhome service point at the side of the toiletblock.

I booked Delftse Hout as many other have raved about it, they either had low expectation or hadn't visited any of the outstanding sites that are on offer in the Netherlands. We stayed for the last four nights of the 17nights that we were in Holland & i have to say apart from the location to the town it was the worst site that we stayed on during our trip.
The pitches were small & cramped, access roads round the site are very tight, we managed OK but saw 1 chap who had to unhitch & negotiate a 90degree maneuver with his mover as his outfit was to long to get round. Shower/toilet blocks whist clean are very primitive by today's standards. The restaurant/bar had the most miserable staff that i have ever met & closed at 9pm on the dot even though site was full, many people returning from a day out having to go back out again to find food & drink. The kids play area was great until the day that the hedges were being trimmed & knob head gardener went for his lunch leaving all his tools including petrol hedge trimmers & fuel unattended in the play area.
The reception & shop staff were great, very friendly & helpful. The shop was well stocked & a lot of information was available from the reception regarding transport & guided walks & bike rides.
Sorry this has turned into a review (will post in reviews) Yes i probably would stay again for a couple of nights purely due to its location to Delft & ferry port.
I for one beg to differ on this. Having camped, caravanned and motorhomed for over 30 years both in the UK and in various countries abroad, I would say the site ranks amongst the better ones we have visited.
Many sites on the continent, with the exception of most French sites, have smaller pitches than we are used to over here, and in the case of Delftse Hout I would say, they are not big but are bigger than some of the Italian ones we have stayed on for example.
Haven't used the restaurant/bar so cannot comment on that. However, the toiletblocks are certainly not primitive. The last time we were there was in March of this year, and they were definitely modern then.
As for the gardener leaving tools etc in the play area, that is inexcusable, did you report this to reception? I would have done.
In my opinion this site may not be the most fantastic site, but it certainly isn't that bad.

I'll agree with Ina on this one, I have never seen such attention to cleaning as goes into the toilet/shower facilities at Delftse Hout, power washed every morning and then in the evening the floors mopped and loo paper, soap and paper towels replenished. OK the restaurant is not what it used to be and it does close early, but it is not run by the site - it is a concession so we were informed, but there are dozens of suitable eating establishments in Delft, try Schaapskoi just a short walk away. I too would have reported what the gardener left laying around. We certainly have never felt cramped on a pitch. As for the site roads of which there are ample, we have never had a problem negotiating them with either Trailer Tent, Motorhome or Caravan.
We have stayed on other sites in Holland which are nowhere near as good.

I have three sides, left, right and wrong - which one are you on?
