Hi there

we're driving down to Spain next Wednesday and will be stopping at a Formule 1 or similar for a night. There's my wife and I and two young boys (under 5) - my question is would they allow all of us to stay in one room? I doubt there will be any family rooms available and all the standard rooms only allow 3 people. It seems silly (and expensive!) to have 2 rooms when we'll all be sleeping together anyhow. Has anyone been in the same situation?

thanks in advance

steve

BB and quick palace have rooms for 4 - with ensuite in bb.

The rules say only 3 in a room in F1 - You can say rules are there to be broken and check in after the office closes or you can say the rules are important for fire/safety matters - its up to you.

When we arrived at the B&B hotel in Calais last year needing a room for three - they only had a double room but let us use our airbed for our son. Don't know if you would get away with two extra.

You can book online for most budget hotels so if you know where you will be and when you could book in advance - B&B in Calais appear to have 4 bed family rooms available for weds night.

We have used Formule1 on a number of occasions in the past and we have never been asked/counted how many there were of us. I think with two young boys under 5 the room is gonna be quite adequate in size as the double bed is a decent size.

I personally wouldn't want 4 in a Formule1. I suppose the driver could sleep in the overhead bunk to ensure a good nights sleep- leaving the other adult in the bed with the children.

As Huw says the rules are there for a reason. BTW I would advise checking availability online. We tried loads of Formule 1s last year quite late on in the season, when travelling up from the South and they were all full. We ended up staying somewhere more expensive than we would have liked.

Hope you find somewhere.

thanks all

we decided to play safe and go for Hotel B&B in the end - we all slept together in a Formule 1 last year but that was because we had my sister and husband in another room so we managed to separate the kids on the booking.

cheers

steve

We booked 2 rooms at Formula 1 and Etap for last week.

The Etap in Thonen les Bains has converted a whole floor to 5 berth rooms. We saved 30 euros over the 2 rooms we had booked.

Formula 1 still insisted we had 2 rooms, boys in 1, girls in t'other, walkie talkies between.
