Hi All, We are travelling to France by Eurotunnel at the end of this month, and would like to find a site for a motorhome close to Calais for at least one night. We will be arriving in France around 4.30pm. Also is there a good vet for the return near Calais for the ticks etc. Many thanks Christine

Hi

I used www.campingfrance.com and www.alanrogers.com mostly when planning for this year.

We did Dover-Boulogne and drove to Epernay as we wanted to do champagne tours, that was a couple of hours away and coming back we stayed in Amiens as it was close to the war memorial sites and tours.

Other than that, google the town where you want to stay and the sites may have their own websites.

Motorhomes can also park in aires (sp?) and other designated areas overnight in France.

The nearest campsite to the tunnel exit is Camping Fort du Lapin at Bleriot Plage just ajacent to Calais. as you leave the tunnel complex take the sign for Calais, come onto the A16 motorway & take the next exit off & turn left towards the coast, drive about a mile & you come to a big roundabout almost at the coast, turn left signed Bleriot Plage campsite about a mile on right ajacent to coast.

Oops! Forgot the original question!
The Port de Plaisance at Peronne is directly on the river Somme and about 2 hours south of Calais. There's a brasserie in town and a WW1 museum. Sorry I don't know about a vet.

We've done Gandspette many times - and there's a vet about 500m up the road near the Champion supermarket, which lots of people with dogs use.
