Just returned from two weeks in Brittany where weather not brilliant although I think it was better than in here have decided to try South of France next year with a fly drive. Although we can book sites now does any one know when next year's flights become available? Looking at Easy Jet, Ryan Air etc flying to Perpignon area.

Originally looked at Frejus, as could get a flight with Easy Jet from Bristol to Nice and we have also looked at the Perpignon area.
I would be interested in your mobile homes though. Can you let me have some details? we are looking at going at the end of June 2009 as son is doing GCSE's and will have finished Year 11 by the 26th June and OH has to get in quick at work to book holidays.

We booked Easyjet to Geneva and then Nova car hire from the french side of the airport. A mobile home at Camping Jungfrau finishes everything off.
Very impressed with Novacarhire.com it seems they have a bit of clout with the hire companies - you don't get pushed into upgrades and waivers when you collect. They also do an insurance product that covers you for the excess that a company may charge. This worked out cheaper than the CDW from the hirer. I paid 304 euros for a Citroen Berlingo for 10 days.
so how much we looking at per person for a flight to say, perpignan for late June ( at this years rates ) just out of interest , plus 2 weeks car hire.

We paid 550 euro for 2 weeks commencing end of June for a 7 seater at Carcassonne. Our flights were not cheap (1200 euro for 4 - from Dublin) so can't comment on flights from england.
We dont have the dates you require for that time, but my sister in law does,if you would like to see her website,I will put both down anyway and you can have a look.www.freewebs.com/valberry is Val's and ours is below.Anytime you need any help just contact us,all details on our websites.
Having seen on tv how intransigent EasyJet can be with their customers, I would think VERY long and hard before I spent my "hard earned" with them.
I have flown a lot since they came into being and have often found that if you're booking far enough ahead, the scheduled airlines can offer as good a deal - especially if you look at the national carrier of the country you are going to.

I can confirm what has been said about National airlines. We've booked BA Gatwick to Marseille several times and they have been consistently cheaper than Sleazyjet and others, they also feed you included in price. Depends how far from Gatwick you are. Also their luggage allowance is higher. Car hire - try www.cartrawler.com. Beware of so called special prices offered by the airlines - in my experience they are more expensive than booking direct.
We went to the Dordogne twice this year (April and end July/August) and flew both times with Ryanair from Stansted to Bergerac.
We flew out/back on a week day for the cheaper prices - for example going out on the Friday was £19.99, yet going out the following day was £109.99, similar coming home so we flew back on the Monday.
Have never had any problems with the low-cost airlines - and they're convenient for us as we're only about 50 minutes from Stansted.
