Thinking of goin to benidorm next year having 3 children dont no wat to for the best

Been tryin to get a price on ferry crossing from portsmouth to bilbao but even booking this early in advance its still veryyyyy costly £938.00. So dont no wether to drive from calais surely it wont cost that much in tolls and sites on the way down or and fuel.

Has anybody done this treck in the past and wat would you advise, its just 3 children stuck in a mondeo for days and hours while about 8 from bilbao just dont no wat to do any advice would be welcomed...

I have booked for Spain next year and did consider sailing and driving and spent ages working out the prices and miles and allsorts but decided in the end to book a flight instead as we're staying in a mobile home.  I think you need to work out the route in all the variables you can do and decide what suits you the best.

we looked at going to Benidorm last year with our tourer, in the end, we went all inclusive in a hotel on a package holiday, as no matter how i tried, i couldnt match the price by going ourselves with the tourer, i know that people may not like all inclusive/hotels etc. not getting into that one, im just pointing out how expensive we found the cost would have been, we thought that we would have saved a fortune by going self drive etc.

This is wat ive come up with so far

portsmouth to bilbao in june £635.00 campsite £300.00 approx £65.00 fuel but 8to9 hours drive according to michellin route finder so far approx £1000,00 thats option 1

or option 2

dover to calais approx £150.00 ferry 2 stop offs on way approx £60.00 plus £300 for site in benidorm £189 petrol 1 way so £278 both ways but 2 days to get there so in total approx £800.  or

option 3  package holiday for 5 people approx £2000

I think ill keep working on this but can say option 3 right out of the window,,,,,,,

I think that you should do your sums again as to get there in 2 days you would be doing around 560 miles per day.

I would say at least 3 days there and the same back as its around 1130miles each way, there is also the trip to dover as well.

If you are talking about July/August why drive that far.

You havent included road tolls with option 2, for car/caravan, even going on a feasable route with least toll yool be lookin at £150 return, & double that for the quickest route.

You are right that you cannot get a hol for the price of camping as we too wanted to book benidorm all inclusive for next year..but as we are tied to school hols and eldest will count as adult  we were looking at 4k plus!!! we are now looking at camping in costa dorada as we went there the last time in spain and port aventura was fab !!! we would love to go to benidorm but think it may be a bridge too far this time!!
