Has anyone been to this site in Languedoc in the last couple of years? We are taking two teenagers who like to meet up with others but we don't want a huge campsite and don't mind low key entertainment. I understand the area is busy but looks like you have to put up with that to go near the med. Any views or other suggestions? We'll be booking a mobile home.

Just south of the port in argeles - nicest location IMO - looks a nice site but too quite for my teenagers. From what I have seen from the website and driving past it a few times I think I'd like it.

We go to the north - large and loud - there are loads of teenagers - which is just what our's want.

We use Camping Le Soleil - its got a poulation about 3 times that of our village and unlike our village 60% of people are not 'waiting for God'.

We went to Bois du Valmarie a few years ago - lovely pool area with great views as it is at the top of a small hill but I don't know if there would be enough on site for teenagers as it is really quite a small site with not much more than a playground and a bar/restaurant from what I remember. There was a small amount of train noise but it didn't really bother us. Lots of Brits.

When you see the traffic you will appreciate the importance of being right next to the beach too - there are lots along the coast there - we have been 3 times with social teenagers now aged 14 and 16 who are growing into the site rather than growing out.

The noise of a nearby funfair is intrusive at night - but it also masks the sounds of those who like to sit outside late and laugh.

There are no reviews on UKCS. I just had a look in Alan Rogers and it doesn't look like my idea of camping heaven at all. There are no touring pitches, so no freecampers like us, just all the tour operators you can think of. If that's what you're looking for ....

Good job we're not all the same, innit

Liz

 Hi,

Just back from Argeles, stayed at L'hippocampe, fantastic weather and plenty to do for two teenage sons, you are able to use the facilities at La Sirene and L'hippocampe. We didn't find it too noisy but it is towards the end of the French holiday season, you could hear the entertainment but it was always quiet by midnight.

Kay
