A friend visited this site two years running and thinks it's great. I believe its quite a commercial site with lots of evening entertainment and daily entertainment for both children/teenagers. She stayed in a static so can't comment on other pitches.Lovely childrens play area and good shop. You can get a little train into canet nearby, or a longish walk. She said it was a very attractive site and well organised. Sorry but as this is third person I don't know very much.
We have just booked to stay on this site at the end of June next year as a result of reading a report on this site so would be interested to hear other people's views. Its just me, OH and 15 year old son going. As he will be doing GCSE's next year he will be able to finish school by the end of June so taking advantage of cheaper prices. We are staying in a static and hope to book a flight as soon as they come out. Also, we have been told that if we need to amend our booking due to flight timings we can do so free of charge before the end of the year. Tried booking direct but was told they were not taking bookings from new customers until November and were told that they are already booked for most of July and August due to repeat bookings. We have booked with Eurocamp as they were offering a 20% discount if we booked early and also could not find many other companies who used this site.
We stayed last year with two small children at the end of May and they loved it. There is entertainment, day and evening, and day trips etc. Toilets and showers were always spotless. Shops were good but pricey apart from the very good wine shop. Good access to the beach, we'd go back, I don't know how busy it gets in the main season, though. The pitches were grass in May, in little enclaves so it never feels too big. Good mix of nationalities.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I think Eurocamp are the only tour operators on site. However if you are willing to take a gamble with time, the sites own statics (the Okavango pitches are lovely) become available again from cancellations. If you prebook on site for the following year, you have around 8 weeks before you pay deposit and I guess some people change their mind.
We went to this site 4 years ago. The site itself is lovely, immaculately kept and well laid out.The pool was large but cold and we felt that the deep end extended much to far.We went the beginning of July and were a little disapointed with the weather don't know if we were just unlucky but we found that although it was sunny the mistral wind really kept the temperature down.
As already mentioned there is a tourist train (takes about 10/15 mins) or in the evening you can walk thru boatyard to catch a small ferry. Most nights a tourist market is held along the promenade, we were lucky enough to be there for Bastille day, we still say it was the best firework display we have ever seen.
The beach at camp was lovely but take care as it slopes steeply into sea. The beach in Canet stretches for miles but that wind whipped up the sand and totally sandblasted us! so we didnt spend much time there. Evening entertainment was a kiddies disco followed by a band or singer- mostly all conducted in french but understandable. We found the drinks expensive but anything would be compared to the one pound bottles of wine you could buy at the local supermarket.
All in all we had a good holiday but we havent felt the need to return.
