Does anyone know how I can get a cheaper fare than £1100 for car and caravan to Bilbao or Santander next July/August? The CC don't have their fares yet so can't tell me how much discount they give. I need to know to start planning where we're going on holiday! If it is that much, I'm driving through France as even with tolls and fuel, its half that price!

Actually Seafrance was cheaper but still £1065 plus I have to drive to Plymouth from Norfolk. Which is a nightmare but Seafrance's crossings are quicker. I was hoping that the Caravan Club might come out about £600-700.
I've just got a quote for us coming home on the 1st september, 7 m motorhome, 2 adults, 2 kids and outside 4 berth cabin £378, I was pleasantly surprised.
Can I book one way, I dont want an outwardP&O crossing but it appears on the website you can only book an outward and return journey??

Have a look at the 'wish we were closer' post on page 2 as there is a link to the cheaper fares calender on one of the replies. This will enable you to look for the cheapest dates to travel and get the best value.
thanks Dionne, I'd already seen that link, I picked the cheapest price which suits us but it appears you can only book a return?? We fancy going home Bilbao/Portsmouth to save the long drive home, it wont cost much more after paying the tolls/ fuel all the way up through France.

I'd give them a call, always been helpful when we've phoned. Its daft that you can't book a single Bilbao-Portsmouth online when you can do it the other! Ringing them probably your best bet. I'm sure others on here have done it that way so it should be possible?

We have just booked to go next August and it has cost us 805 for a family of four with a trailer, our friends have a caravan and it has cost them 900. We are going just over two weeks so it might be useful messing about with the dates because I think it can make a difference what day the week you go.... its worth a shot!!!
on the verge of booking this crossing outbound, can anyone who has done the crossing tell me if the cabins have a plug point in? We were hoping to take our cool box filled with drinks to save the expense of two kids who are always thirsty.

we went in may this year ( whitson plus the next week( we just took car and roof box and it was £576 for 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant for an outside.
I'm sure rooms had plug sockets, though we just took cartons and the boys drank them as they were, the meals weren't that expensive but it did mount up as you had to eat every meal there , took snacks and supper ourselves.
I booked through C&CC and they were only just cheaper than P&O website.
