We camped in Riva del Garda a couple of years ago. Loads of sites - all chock-a-block, very small pitches and quite expensive. Still, many are right on the Lake so good in that respect.

We then drove an hour or so west to lake Iseo... way smaller than Garda but every bit as beautiful. Very quiet and campsites much less crowded.

If I ever go back to Garda it won't be to camp!

Depends where you go - for the first time this year we went to the Italian Lakes, Garda being one of them. In the Alan Rogers guide we found a gem of a site (no good for the original poster though, too quiet!) La Gardiola. That was on the same side of the lake as Riva del Garda, but a bit further down. Right on the edge of the lake, at the end of a road, so no traffic at all and only 24 pitches (plus some statics, but they were further back from the lake, the tourers pitches are right at the front). Cost 24 Euros per night for 2 inc EHU, and it was fantastic.
Also went to Lake Iseo, and agree it is beautiful, less popular, so less people.

Have a look at the Eurocamp/Canvas Holidays/Keycamp type brochures - they have 'kids clubs' for all ages, and looking through the brochures will give you some idea of where they run a club for older teenagers - an indication that there will be teenagers there, and things for them to do.

We stayed (years ago) at Camping Eden and had a great pitch on a top terrace overlooking the lake - but we weren't towing, and it isn't a site I'd like to get a Wyoming round the tight bends.  It was good for teenagers, though, and had a cinema showing just the sorts of films they liked (bearing in mind if was almost twenty years ago and teenagers then were more 'innocent' than they are now!!!).
