We always stay at Premier Inn Dover East. Its quiet has a nice pub on site with decent food and good beer. Im not looking for a four star hotel just something reliable and convenient. The rooms are always spotless and its a 2 minute drive to the ferry ports (a straight run direct from the hotel). It's much better than the central dover premier inn which has the sea views but the pub isnt a patch.

agree about Premier Inns - we stop at Dover West which is a couple of miles further out but still only 10 mins from the port - set in the countryside with a nice pub next door - easy parking - always clean and friendly and around £60 for a family room.
As an ex-Dover girl I can say there are ALOT of B&Bs around in the town and surrounding areas. Why not try one of those? E.g. The Swingate Inn just on the road to Deal from the A2 (and about 5 minutes from the port). Probably cheaper than a hotel. Its a pub so dinner and beer sorted too.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We either stay at the premier travelinn in Dover or stop in Calais at the suite hotel.
