I have used speedferries a few times and have been very happy with them.
They don't bump you up a sailing though if you get there early like other providers appear to.
Coming home we made great time and were in Boulogne in time for the previous sailing to which we were booked on, they said we could give them £60 for a new ticket and forfeit ours so we went to the beach instead to watch the ferry go and come back for us a few hours later.
The weather was great so it wasn't exactly hardship, plus the car being full of food, drink and camping stove makes the time go fast.
I think we paid about £60 return this time, saying all this they do flexible tickets which may allow you to move up a booking but the MSE in me didn't feel the need!
