Hi all,

We're at the stage where both our friends and our own boys are 16yrs old. They still want to come caravanning with us at the moment, but we feel that its time to use some sites with facilities to suit them aswell as ourselves.

Preferably in France. Ideally it will have some watersports, evening entertainment etc. For our part, we would like decent sized private pitches. Maybe even fully serviced.

Obviously it would be nice to have places nearby to visit.

So that is your mission. not asking too much am I!

camping la Brasilia Canet Plage very similar probably to Le Soleil, but disco finishes at 2.00pm, then the teenagers go to the beach!!

Thanks everyone! I'll research these sites. I do remember one in the Dordogne, but cant remember the name....

St. Avit Loisirs at Le Bugue (Dordogne) is absolutely fabulous for teenagers. We spent 3 weeks there this year and the teens had their best holiday for years. One plus point is that it never gets rowdy.

They have fully serviced pitches but I wouldn't say they were that private. I have a review published on this site if you are interested.

Yepp I think you are right pager 33   Spot the deliberate mistake !!

Mind you its the only campsite my two have ever asked to return to, as I think for older teenagers they need a town to be able to walk into and give them freedom and total independence, but then I'm sure some people would disagree with me.

Have any members actually stayed here? If so, any advice on pitches? We both have twin axles, so space is important. Been caught out on French sites too many times now!

Many thanks for that. Do you know whether bbqs are allowed, and if not do they have a dedicated area for them? As some sites do.

Are the toilets communal or ladies/gents?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have been stung too many times in France with sites..

The site allowed electric BBqs and they also hired them out along with fridges.

The toilet block we were near was brand new and the nicest one I have every seen in all the campsites I have visited. Although we were in a rented mobile we all used the showers at the toilet block, as they were excellent power showers with water that could easily be regulated. My teenagers liked the fact that there were hairdries provided and an area they could use their hair straightners. I think they were communal showers, but the toilets were ladies/gents. The site do have a website where you might find more information, but I can only assure you that my kiddies said most of the people they met come year after year and were from the Netherlands, Britain and France.

I understand this site only accepts repeat bookings until November. Is this correct? So how likely are you to get pitch or mobile in July/ August if you are a first timer.
