Hi there - can anyone recommed a great campsite in both of these locations, thinking about having a two centre stop in Italy.

Lake Garda Site - would like something reasonably on the flat, lake beach/water access if poss, good kids facilities ie park, pool etc.

Venitian peninsula - preferably direct beach access, close to restaurants, shops etc, safe site, child friendly good pools?

Any and indeed all suggestions most welcome.

Angie

The two places you mention are on our list for next year. We have been to both before but it was 16 years ago we were on Lake Garda and 8 years ago we were near Venice. This site is not a bad starting point for generally finding sites http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/europe/ There are dozens of campsites around Lake Garda, we though of trying one this time at the south end of the Lake near Sirmione. For Venice we will use Miramare but if you want direct access to the beach the sites further out of Punta Sabbioni would suit. I am sure you will get a few recommendations.

Hi Angie

We went to the Jesolo Peninsula in 2006 and stayed at Camping Cavallino. It was a lovely site with direct access to the warm Adriatic sea and quite near to the ferries to Venice. I have put a review in the campsite search section. There are a whole string of good quality sites along the Jesolo Peninsula with direct beach access. We, also, visited the Lido campsite nearby - we went for the English language Church service but had a quick look around that huge site while we were there. It had its own Church, Cinema, several pools and just about everything else - a bit big for us however.

Can't help with Garda as in the Lakes we've only stayed at La Riva on lake Como and Camping Riva San Pietro on Lake Iseo. Again reviews of both on Campsite search section.

Hope this helps
Tim

Hi Angie, can't help with lake Garda, but stayed at the Garden Paradiso in Jesolo for 14 nights this summer having driven down with our folding camper. The site is superb directly on the beach, fab pools and shops on site as well as as many activities as you can imagine. Theres evening entertainment and evening craft markets on site aswell. Another advantage is that the site is at the Lido end so you're nearer the centre but still 15 mins drive from the ferries to Venice. The toilet/shower facilities were the best I've ever come across anywhere in Europe. My girls 4 and 8 loved it too!!
Great area where ever you choose to stay
good luck
