Going to salzburg for a week next year--have a site in mind (nord-sam) then was hoping to head down to lake constance for another week, but most of the sites i have checked out seem to cram the vans in, which is not for us. Anyone recommend a site with reasonable spacious pitches, and where we don't have to pay another  ten euros for the privilege!! --------many thanks guys

We stayed here earlier in the year http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=8130 I thought some of the pitches were quite generous in size especially those towards the back of the site away from the lake frontage. When we searched for a site it was difficult to find onethat was right on the lake and was reaosnably priced. They are also very popular so they will initially seem crowded. Would agree with the previous post that Lindau is well worth a visit but best to park on the mainland side of the bridge and walk in. Best also to nip back into Austria to fill up with diesel as its cheaper than German prices.

I noticed that you are thinking of staying at Nord Sam. It was a few years ago but we have also stayed here. Its convenient for the centre as there is a bus stop almost outside the gates. Not sure it its still the same but we did experience some railway noise but otherwise a nice site.
