In the Vendee. Do you think this site will suit us. We like quietish sites . We'll be going late June - early July.Just hubby and me , no children.
All the reviews seem good but i've heard the Vendee should be avoided if you like peace and quiet.
Any opinions please.

Ok thanks. My other possibiblity is la guyonniere. Anyone been to both? how do they compare. All we need is a good size pitch , the usual good showers etc and not too noisey
we are going to the domaine de la foret as we like the look of it and because it was recommended to us .we are going in mid july for 2 weeks 2 adaults and 2 kids.

I was in this area last year around this time and found it quiet enough, stayed in Garangeoire though so can't help you with what the campsites are like!
Stayed at Domaine de Foret in summer 2007. Even in high season its a peaceful site. Highly recommended. Take a bottle of wine and a picnic down to the lakes and watch the sun go down.....fantastic time
We went last year and have booked again for this summer. It's about 10 miles inland so much more peaceful (and more space) than sites on the coast. Had a letter from them this week to say they are changing their name to Chateau de la Foret and one of the pools will be heated from this year. Can't wait to go back.
I had a look around Domaine de la Foret on a wet day in August. we were staying at La Guyonnierre for 2 weeks. la Foret was a mix of open and wooded pitches of a reasonable size. The pools looked quite good and the fishing very good. There was a mix of English French and Dutch. We preferred La Guyonniere for the huge pitches and the pool complex but it was more expensive.
And I thought La Foret was expensive enough! We are expecting them to ask for the deposit soon for our holiday at the end of July and are seriously wondering whether to change our plans. 14 nights with three kids and hook up is about £700 at todays exchange rate and the cost for our friends to hire a mobile for that period is nearly £1500! I love this campsite but I really don't know if it's nice enough to spend that sort of money, especially as the weather has not been that great there for the last 2 years and so we have had to spend quite a lot of money on top on things to do in the area rather than spending nothing lying by the pool or on the beach.
