Love it

We are looking for a site nearish the coast, west coast would be OK too.

It has to have a good pool complex, a slide is crucial.

Would like it to be smaller than 300 pitches.

And we would like to a rent a mobile home/chalet.

And it has to have vacancies for 2 weeks at the beginning of August!

aaaggghhhh

There is a challenge for you all!

I am sooo frustrated as the site linked above had vacancies last weekend, we dithered and now they are full!

Have a look at the camping qualite website to search by map. I've used this website for some years, good for narrowing down criteria as there are thousands of sites out there.

Except the site seems to be down at the moment!
Try this one instead, but persist with the Camping Qualite later when it's back up.

Both sites been broken for a while Johnny. I'm trying to make my mind up too. I'm thinking about Camping Les Embruns which seems to tick all auntyquated's boxes. Never stayed but I have had a peek when visiting Le Pouldu. Nice beaches within an easy walk.

Hi

If you dont mind the drive why not go to the south of france

www.holidaygreen.com

I know our managers have space for the 2 weeks your after,if you drop me a line I will give you their details. The only drawback is it isnt smaller than 300 pitches, but has a cracking pool complex and lovely mobile homes/chalets.

First, have you tried directly with the site to find accommodation there?  If so and it's the site that doesn' have any availability in it's own accommodation, then have you also tried via Eurocamp, and Keycamp, which also have mobiles and tents there?

If so, and none have anything then what about this one - Chateau du Boisson?  We stayed there in about 1984!  I know that's a long time ago, and I'm not recommending it on that basis, but we've been back since to have another look.  It's set on two levels, at the bottom of the hill are some open pitches, and some mobiles, and then there are other more established shady pitches, and some mobiles at the top of the hill  - where the pools, bar, restaurant, etc are.

As far as I know there are several tour operators offering accommodation there, and the site also arranges it's own mobiles.  It does have a water-slide - but isn't the sort of place where it's over-run by teenagers going wild.  We did have a meal there, with friends, not that long ago, and it was really nice - in a vaulted restaurant.

There's a castle on site, and you're probably about an hour and a half from the coast.  Perhaps a bit further than Massereau, but not that much.

Try  Camping la Palombiere or Camping les Granges in Dordogne , not exactly on the West Coast but lovely campsites with lots of facilities and definately great pool complexes with slides.

Here's one in the Vendee, about 12miles from the coast.

Oh dear, just noticed that you wanted a water slide, and I don't think they have one there.  Though the municipal swimming pool is opposite - maybe they have one...

We are going to Sequoia Parc in Charente Maritime area although it comes up as Aquitaine area on campsite search ticks most of your boxes although I have no idea of how many pitches or availability.  Theres a whole island of beaches very close by

Try Les Pirons in a small suberb a mile or 2 South of Les Sables D'Olonne http://www.camping-les-pirons.com/uk/camping-avec-animation.html - they have chalets and a slide, a few 100 yds walk to the sea.
